Donor Programs for the Scandinavian School in San Francisco

The Scandinavian School in San Francisco is a non-profit organization founded to instruct children and adults in Scandinavian cultures, traditions and languages.

With the support of its many friends, the Scandinavian School has dramatically improved its program offering, activities and its services to the Scandinavian Community.

But our mission is not yet complete.

Like other independent schools, contributions to the Scandinavian School help bridge the gap between tuition revenues and the full cost of operating an exceptional school.

To provide the very best care and education for our children and still keep tuition reasonable, the school’s goal is to build a solid funding base. Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law and can be an excellent opportunity for family, friends and others who want to support the school’s current operating needs and keep the Scandinavian School vibrant.

The Scandinavian school welcomes both monetary and in-kind donations and listed below are the different donor programs and various ways that you can contribute. Gifts at all levels are greatly appreciated! 1 Project Donations

The school has identified several priority needs and is in the midst of a bold campaign to build momentum and establish itself as a premier language immersion school in San Francisco. All pledges at this level may be fulfilled over a three-year period. Project Donations are intended to fully fund a specific program or project at the school. If you wish, your name will be displayed prominently in the designated area of your contribution.

Of even greater importance is unrestricted giving. These gifts, which are used to fund the school’s highest priorities, give the Directors the flexibility to direct resources where they are most needed. Please contact us directly to discuss these opportunities.

2 Corporate Associates Program

In the Corporate Associates Program companies can sponsor the school and support the Scandinavian community. For a $ 5,000 cash or a $10,000 in-kind donation we offer the following as appreciation of your generous gift:

Logo, short description and link to your website at the donor section of our website
Donor plaque at the school
Logo and link to your website in our Newsletter

Another way for companies to create tremendous visibility and goodwill is to become a “Matching Gifts Company”. Corporations can offer to match any donations given at a particular fundraising event, up to a certain limit. This means that any amount donated by someone at that event will be matched and thus effectively doubled through the contribution of the Matching Company.

3 In-Kind Donations

School Materials
The Scandinavian School is always looking for books, games and puzzles in Swedish, Danish and Norwegian. Please look at our wish list for more specific ideas.

4 Volunteering

Your Time and Expertise
The Scandinavian School is looking for people who are interested in volunteering at the school. We need help
with light cooking as well as volunteers in the classroom who can read to the children or assist with projects. We also welcome help and ideas in areas such as marketing, fundraising, PR activities, and yard maintenance.
