Norwegian Classes

The classes will be held at the Scandinavian School, 20 Woodside Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94127. The semester consists of 8 weekly lessons – each lesson an hour and a half. The cost is $300 per session plus the cost of teaching materials, approximately $30. There is also a one time registration fee of $25 for first time students.  Information about teaching materials will be given on the first night of class.

First class starts Thursday, August 15 and the last class of that session is October 3.

Next session starts October 17 and ends on December 12. No class on Thanksgiving.

Other information: 

Each year, we have four semesters; two in the spring and two in the fall. You sign up for one semester (8 classes) at a time. If you plan to take a class, please contact our language program coordinator at languageclasses@scandinavianschool.org so we know the size of the class in advance. 

Your teacher:

Randi Finjord Hallingstad
Randi is Norwegian. She holds a master’s degree in Norwegian and has also studied French for two full years at NTNU, The Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway. She has also studied pedagogics to become a teacher in Norwegian and French. Besides her teaching experiences, Randi has some administrative experience from the economical college in Trondheim, Norway, and has also worked as a pre-school teacher in a Norwegian pre-school from its’ opening date. Randi has lived most of her life in Norway, but she lived some years in Denmark and Switzerland during her early childhood. She also lived a while in Paris and New Mexico in her early twenties. She now lives in Silicon Valley with her husband and children.
