Swedish Classes – Fall '2010
The
classes will be held at the Scandinavian School, 20 Woodside Avenue,
San Francisco, CA 94127. The semester consists of 8 weekly lessons -
each lesson an hour and a half.
The Schedule
Beginner 1 starts Tuesday, August 17 and ends October 5.
Intermediate 1starts Tuesday, August 24 and ends October 12.
Upper Intermediate starts Tuesday, August 17 and ends October 5.

The Sign up
Each year, we have four semesters; two in the spring and two in the
fall. You sign up for one semester (8 classes) at a time. Tuition is $280
for 8 classes plus a one-time registration fee of $25 for
new students. Teaching material is approx. $40.

The Classes
Beginner I:
This is a class for the student with no prior
knowledge of the language.
Focus will be on basic pronunciation, grammar and
communication in typical everyday situations."
Intermediate I:
This class is suitable for students who have already taken Beginners I and Beginners II or equivalent. Emphasis will be placed on vocabulary expansion, more advanced grammar, and correct pronunciation. Conversations in Swedish will be practiced as much as possible, and weekly homework will be assigned.
Upper Intermediate:
This class is suitable for students who have already taken Intermediate II or equivalent. The focus of this class is to improve our speaking and listening skills. We want to be able to express ourselves in more complex sentences and through movies, songs and more advanced texts, we also learn new vocabulary and more advanced grammar.
Teacher Bios
Pia Persson is a native of Sweden. She has several years of experience of teaching foreign
languages to adults and teenagers.
Anne-Louise Pettersson holds a Master's degree in education from the University of Stockholm,
Sweden. She has several years of experience in teaching foreign languages to adults and teenagers
