At the Scandinavian School we believe that language and culture are very close related and our language classes for children will not only provide the children with a spoken and written Scandinavian language, but also a basic knowledge about the Scandinavian cultures. 

To enroll your child in a class please read the information carefully  before signing up. Please fill out a parent agreement form before the first class. Children can not participate in classes before a completed and signed form has been submitted. Find the form here

Swedish Preschool Saturday Language Program 2019-2020 (2 years - 5 years)

Day/time: Saturdays 9:30 - 11:30
Dates Fall semester: August  24 - December 14, 2019
Dates Spring semester: January 11 - June 6 , 2020

Please note that there is no class on November 30, December 7, February 22 and April 4.

Class description: Story, song, and cultural themes—each class consists of circle time, Lilla Grodan Weather Board, art project, free play, and story time. This is a fun and social class where children get a chance to speak, sing and play in Swedish. The class works as a complement to Swedish as a home language. Students should understand Swedish upon enrollment. 
Please send a snack with your child.

We receive a stipend from the Swedish Skolverket for children who turn 6 before December 31, 2019. To qualify, it is also a requirement that at least one of the parents is a Swedish citizen.

Cost for children who turn 6 years old after December 31, 2019
$450 for the semester.

Dates for Fall semester: August 20 - December 10

Cost:  $550 for the school year 2019/20 or $450 for the semester. (Please see more below)

Please note there is no class on September 3 due to Professional Development Day.

$550 for the school year 2019/20. 
We receive a stipend from the Swedish Skolverket for children who turn 6 before December 31, 2019. To qualify, it is also a requirement that at least one of the parents is a Swedish citizen. Since it is a requirement to attend a certain amount of classes to receive the grant, it is only possible to sign up for a full school year.

Cost for children who turn 6 years old after December 31, 2019, and all new students for spring 2020: 
$450 for the spring semester 2020.

Class description: The main goal is for children to further their Danish language skills, learn to read and write in Danish, as well as gain a better understanding of Danish geography, history and culture. Each class offers Danish written work, art & craft projects, circle time, free play and snack time. Students should understand and speak some Danish upon enrollment.
