We are hiring a full time office assistant

The Scandinavian School in San Francisco is looking for a full time office assistant, starting August 13. This is a substitute position for 10 month, ending on June 14th when our current office assistant is back from her maternity leave. We are looking for a fast learner who is enthusiastic about organization and communication and who has an eye for what needs to be done in the day to day organization of the school. The Scandinavian School is a full time immersion preschool and Cultural Center and we are preferably looking for someone who is fluent in Danish, Norwegian or Swedish.

Hours: This is a full time position for 10 month. 8am - 4:30pm every day.

Responsibilities includes, but are not limited to:

  • Organizing children’s and teacher files at the school and make sure that they are always up to date

  • Ordering of office and class materials

  • Answering the phone and taking messages

  • Scheduling tours and help support maintenance of our website

  • Assisting the director and staff with projects and administrative tasks

  • Able to cover classrooms for breaks and coverage if needed


  • Fluent in Danish, Norwegian or Swedish

  • Work permit to work it the US

  • Administrative experience preferred

We are hiring for our Swedish Tuesday afternoon programs

The Scandinavian School is looking for two Swedish speaking teachers for our cultural classes.  You would be responsible for teaching Swedish in our afternoon program for children 5-12 years of age. This is a part time position on Tuesday afternoons.

We offer two Swedish language programs for school aged children, one at our Menlo Park location and one at our San Francisco locations and are currently hiring for both locations. 

Requirements: Native Swedish speaker and work permit and an interest in teaching school aged children.  Experience in teaching is a plus, but not a requirement as you will work with two experienced teachers at both locations.
